Job Summary The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Postdoctoral Fellow for its Markets, Trade and Institutions Division. The position is a two-year, fixed-term appointment, and is renewable depending on performance and funding. Please note that Postdoctoral Fellow appointments at IFPRI have a maximum term of three (3) years, inclusive of any approved appointment extensions. This position is based at IFPRI headquarters located in Washington, D.C.
Essential Duties:
• Conduct research that includes but are not limited to modeling trade agreements, trade reform and assessing their consequences on developing countries under Computable General Equilibrium Model or Partial Equilibrium Analysis; • Estimating econometric models of international trade; • Collecting and analyzing data on trade distortions, tariff and non-tariff barriers; • Writing analytical papers based on empirical research; • Communicating research to a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

| Required Skills: |
• Ph.D. in Economics, International Economics or related field; • Strong capabilities in quantitative data analysis, and particularly in Computable General Equilibrium Models, econometric estimations and statistical databases on trade and market access; • Experience in empirical policy-relevant research in developing countries; • Excellent skills in written and spoken English • Ability to travel frequently.
